Commercial painting for Tri-Cities businesses

Refresh your property and maintain its value. Colors that agree with your floors and fixtures, project management, and an office that answers.

Chapter 01

A color scheme that works with the carpet you already have

Most commercial repaints do not start from bare walls. The carpet stays, the counters and shelving stay, the ceiling grid stays, and a storefront usually has signage already bolted to it. Our commercial page puts it plainly: we work with you to choose an interior color scheme that complements the carpet and other finishes already in the space.

So the first conversation is about what is fixed and what is free to change. We look at the flooring, the fixtures and the light, then narrow down paint colors that sit comfortably beside them instead of fighting them. When you have a short list, we can provide paintable samples to compare on your own walls, and the same Color Visualizer tool our residential customers use is there to explore colors before anyone buys a gallon.

Painting around a business that is still open

A crew working in an occupied building is a scheduling problem before it is a painting problem. Our list of reasons to choose Smile-A-Mile includes project management and an office staff to answer your calls, and on a commercial job both matter: someone decides which area is masked off on which day, and someone picks up the phone when your manager has a question mid-morning.

The process is the same five steps we use on a house, from understanding your project to the walk-through at the end. Our estimator comes out, asks about your hours, your customers and which doors and aisles have to stay usable, and then sends a detailed written proposal by email covering process, products and price. Whatever cannot be disturbed goes into the plan before the paint is opened.

Prep is where the quality is on any building. We mask with a combination of paper, plastic and tape, cover floors and fixtures, and take our garbage with us when the job is done. The company is licensed, bonded and insured, with general liability and workers' compensation policies, under Washington contractor license SMILEP*896CW.

Chapter 03

An exterior refresh that protects what the property is worth

Your storefront or office exterior is the first thing a customer judges, and the goal on our commercial page is to refresh your property and maintain its value. An exterior color scheme should look refreshing and attractive, and it also has to hold up to Eastern Washington's intense summer sun, dry heat and seasonal winds, the same conditions that wear down siding, trim and other exterior surfaces in Kennewick, Pasco and Richland.

That is why exterior commercial work follows the same prep our residential crews run: pressure washing, scraping, sanding, caulking and priming before the first coat. A fresh coat over dirt and failing caulk looks good for a season. Prep is what makes the color last, and it is why bids vary so much. It costs more to properly prepare a surface than to give it a quick coat, and we are glad to walk through our estimate line by line next to anyone else's.

The Trusted By list on the company website names retail clients including Grocery Outlet, Ross, T-Mobile, Verizon, Macy's, Eddie Bauer and Marshalls. The Kennewick office, (509) 987-4774, handles a single storefront the way it handles a house: a detailed written estimate, virtual or in person.

Commercial work starts the same way the rest of ours does, with a look at the space and a written proposal. Most commercial questions come back to the surface and the finish, so it helps to read how we handle exterior painting and the prep wash that comes first.
